HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE 2007 ATTITUDE IS ESSENTIAL SEMINARS

CLEO held two Attitude Is Essential Seminars this summer. The first seminar was held July 13-15, 2007, at the Hilton Atlanta Airport Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia and the second seminar was held July 27-29, 2007, at Renaissance Montura Hotel in Los Angeles, California. A total of two hundred fifty seven students attended both seminars.

This intensive three-day weekend program was designed to orient and prepare upcoming first-year law students for the rigor and challenges of law school.

A total of fifteen law school professors, legal practitioners and law school deans attended the seminar and taught the following courses: Mock Law Class, Financing a Legal Education/Managing Debt, Studying Abroad Opportunities, Introduction to Legal Thinking, Preparing for the Law School Class, Strategies for Effective Use of Study Groups and Faculty Office Hours, Case Briefing, Legal Writing: Tips, Strategies and Pitfalls, etc.

According to feedback from the students and the participating professors, the seminars were a great success. The students expressed that as a result of the seminar, they feel more confident about attending law school this fall and they believe they have been equipped with tools necessary for successful matriculation through the first year of law school.
