CLEO is
excited to announce the opening of our first regional satellite
office. The Midwest Region office headquartered in
Chicago, IL, is staffed by Chipo Nyambuya, Esq. Our
primary intent is to strengthen CLEO's operations and visibility
throughout the region.

Elke
Suber
(Sr. Attorney, Microsoft Corp.)
Elke, a 1993 CLEO Summer Institute participant and University
of Pittsburgh law school grad,

works in
Microsoft's Legal and Corporate Affairs department. Her
practice focuses on technology, new media and social media,
IP, international and data-geolocation issues. Prior to Microsoft,
Elke worked for Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld
in the IP practice area and Anderson Kill & Olick
as a litigation associate. She is a member of the ABA, NBA and
sits on the board of the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyer
Association.
An ardent
CLEO supporter, Elke (along with CLEO alum and Microsoft attorney,
Sherman Helenese [1997]) spearheaded the effort to
establish the CLEO-Microsoft IP Scholarship award for
2L & 3L CLEO participants. The first four $2,500 scholarships
were awarded to students during the January 2010 Mid-Winter
Academic Enhancement & Bar Preparation Seminar
weekend in Arlington, VA.

Student Spotlight
Kevin
R. Johnson
(2L Associate, The University of Alabama School of Law)
All of
us at CLEO would like to send hearty congratulations to 2L
CLEO Associate, Kevin R. Johnson, for recently being designated
as the Chair-Elect of the American Bar Association's (ABA)
Law Student Division. Once he has been officially sworn
in during the ABA's Annual Meeting in San Francisco this August,
Kevin will be responsible for dutifully representing the interests
of the more than 43,000 students nationwide who attend ABA-accredited
law schools. Kevin credits CLEO, in part, for preparing him
to accept the mantle of leadership. Please join us in congratulating
Kevin for this most noteworthy accomplishment!
